Pakistan Airports History

The history of aviation in Pakistan dates back to the 1930s when the first commercial flight took off from Lahore to Delhi. Since then, the aviation industry in Pakistan has grown significantly and several international airports have been established throughout the country. Jinnah International Airport in Karachi was established in the 1940s and was initially known as Royal Pakistan Air Force Drigh Road Base. It was renamed in the memory of Pakistan's founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, after his death in 1948. Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore was established in the 1950s and was initially known as Lahore International Airport. It was renamed after the great philosopher and poet, Allama Iqbal, in the 1980s. Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad was established in the 1980s and was initially known as Chaklala Airport. It was renamed after former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 2008. In recent years, Pakistan has been undergoing significant modernization and expansion of its airport infrastructure to accommodate the growing demand for air travel. The government has also been taking steps to improve the quality of services and facilities offered at Pakistani airports. Pakistan has several international airports. Quetta International Airport, Quetta: This airport serves as a hub for PIA and has one terminal for both international and domestic flights. Faisalabad International Airport, Faisalabad: This airport has one terminal for both international and domestic flights. Multan International Airport, Multan: This airport has one terminal for both international and domestic flights. Sialkot International Airport, Sialkot: This airport has one terminal for both international and domestic flights.
